Student Inspiration through Museum Innovation Programme (IPIM)
-
Museums

The aim of the programme is to cultivate students’ interest in the subject of History by providing them with meaningful learning experiences in museums. In addition, teachers can utilise museums as an effective support system for teaching and learning (T&L), particularly in fostering students’ overall development and achievement.

In line with the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013–2025 (PPPM), which emphasises efforts to cultivate students’ interest in appreciating and understanding history, IPIM reinforces the concept of museums as a relevant and meaningful educational platform. The programme directly supports the aspirations for students to develop knowledge, thinking skills, leadership skills, national identity, bilingual skills, as well as ethics and spirituality through museum-based modules designed to complement teaching and learning.

IPIM is also a character development programme for students and teachers that encourages every student, from Year 4 in primary school to Form 6 in secondary school, to visit at least one museum during their schooling years. The programme also encourages teacher trainees at Teacher Education Institutes (IPG) and public higher education institutions (IPTA) to visit and participate in activities at, at least one museum during their period of study through a structured and systematic approach.
