Proton Holdings Berhad introduced Suprima S on 17 August 2013. The name Suprima roots from the English word "Supreme" while the "s" suffix stands for "Sport". Suprima S is powered with Proton's 1.6 litre turbo engine, paired with a seven-speed ProTronic VT. This machine is able to exert maximum power up to 140 PS at 5.000 pm and peak torque of 205 Nm at 2,000 to 4,000 pm. The feature of LOTUS Hide & Handling further strengthens this machine with its dynamic handling.

Suprima S has gained the full five-star safety rating of the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP). It has been developed to house safety elements such as six airbags, Hill-Hold Assist, ESC with brake assist, traction control system, ABS and EBD. Suprima S is also equipped with full leather seats, reverse camera, engine start button, auto cruise and gear shift pedal.
