The opening of the National Museum, officiated by the Third His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Syed Putra Al-Haj Ibni Almarhum Syed Hassan Jamalullail on 31 August 1963 was one of the country's historical events as the National Museum was the only museum institution that characterize the country's national identity after their independence in 1957 at that time. Since its inauguration, the National Museum has continued to make strides in delivering their best services to the community through the aspects of research, collection, exhibition, publication and conservation, as well as education and development programs until stepping into the 6th decade in 2023.
