The National Museum is open every day, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Only closed on the first and second day of Eid-ul Fitr and the first day of Eid al-Adha.

The National Museum does not sell any ticket through online platform. Visitors can walk-in and buy tickets at the counter located at the front entrance of the National Museum.

Entrance ticket prices to the National Museum are as follows:

Yes, wheelchair is available for the elderly and those in need. You may request for a wheelchair at the exit door of the National Museum.

Guided tours at the National Museum are conducted by Museum Volunteers, Department of Museum Malaysia in 6 languages. You can apply for a walk-in guided tour (limited) at the National Museum information counter or make a reservation 2 weeks prior the tour date. Lost & Found is available at the National Museum information counter.

The National Museum encourages visitors to dress modestly.

Storage racks are available at the National Museum information counter.

Visitors are strictly prohibited from bringing food and drink into the museum's permanent exhibition gallery.

You may use Muzium-Negara-GUEST Wi-Fi for free.

You may board the MRT train and alight at MRT Muzium Negara station.

Or, you can take the KTM/LRT/ERL/Monorel and alight at KL Sentral station where you have to walk for 10 minutes through the connection station to the National Museum MRT.

If you prefer to take the bus, you can board the RED GoKL bus and alight at Muzium Negara bus stop.

If you are getting here by car, we provide parking rates as follows:

  • - RM3.00 for the first hour or part thereof
  • - RM2.00 for the following hour or thereof
  • - RM50.00 for lost ticket (penalty)
  • * The payment rate above does not include 6% SST

Yes, the pictures on our website or social media are free for personal use. You are encouraged to credit the National Museum if the photos are used.

Yes, we provide training modules for students that will be sent together with the approval letter via email. The tour coordinator may print out the provided module before visiting the National Museum.

Yes, the National Museum conducts outreach activities that can be requested through an official letter/email to the Director of the National Museum at zamrul@jmm.gov.my.

The recruitment of practical students depends on the needs and vacancies in the Malaysian Museum Department. Students who are interested in undergoing practical training at the Malaysian Museum Department must send a resume along with an official application from the University/Institution.
