Gallery B: Malay Kingdoms

The gallery presents historical evidence of the Malay civilization through the establishment of the Malay kingdoms across the Archipelago with a particular focus on the Malay kingdoms that existed in the Malay Peninsula and Borneo.

The emergence of these kingdoms proved the existence of an organized and systematic system of government with achievement in the field of socio-economic especially in international trade as well as development in cultural characteristics and beliefs of the Malays.

The main focus of the gallery is the Melaka Sultanate, an important episode in the history of the country. Melaka is not only famous as an international port city in trade but emerged as a grand and glorious kingdom as well as succeeded in creating a form of monarchy, inherited by the kingdoms that succeeded it
