Sambutan 60 Tahun Muzium Negara
National Museum

The opening of the National Museum, officiated by the Third His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Syed Putra Al-Haj Ibni Almarhum Syed Hassan Jamalullail on 31 August 1963 was one of the country's historical events as the National Museum was the only museum institution that characterize the country's national identity after their independence in 1957 at that time. Since its inauguration, the National Museum has continued to make strides in delivering their best services to the community through the aspects of research, collection, exhibition, publication and conservation, as well as education and development programs until stepping into the 6th decade in 2023.

The Department of Museums Malaysia (JMM) through The National Museum of Malaysia has drawn up various programs and activities for 4 days from 31 August to 3 September 2023, located at the National Museum Compound in conjunction with the 60th anniversary this year. Various exciting programs will be presented to visitors throughout the four days of this celebration, such as the National Museum's 60th Anniversary Exhibition: A Retrospective, Echo: Poetry Night, Mini Concert, Media & Strategic Partner Appreciation Ceremony, the National Museum's 60th Anniversary Run, the launching of the Time Capsule, Malaysia's participation Book of Record and various other activities.
