This is the 1.3 litre Proton Saga. It was the first of 30 cars to be manufactured during its test-run stage. It created history by becoming Malaysia's first national car when it was completed at 2.30pm on Thursday, 18th April 1985. This car was donated by Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Sdn.Bhd. (PROTON) to the National Museum and it was officially handed over by Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Dato' Jamil bin Jan, Chairman of PROTON to Y.B Datuk. Sulaiman bin Haji Daud, Minister of Culture Youth and Sports Malaysia on Tuesday, 15th August 1985 to be preserved for posterity.
